Who is Improve on the Move?
Improve on the Move is both a gait analysis service and social running group based in County Armagh. It all started in 2017, when Siobhan and Tom decided to offer a semi-mobile gait analysis service. Siobhan had previously worked in specialised sports shop offering gait analysis, therefore building up significant experience and knowledge. We had discussed how gait analysis had been previously aimed at the 'serious runner' and it had potential to help the wider market, especially beginner runners and exercisers. We also aimed to be semi-mobile meaning we could go direct to sports clubs and groups.
Shortly after the business had got going, we realised many of our customers had the desire to start running, but did not have the confidence to join a running group. We quickly identified that there was a desire for a social running group open to all ages and abilities. Therefore we formed Improve on the Move Runners.
Our Goals
Gait Analysis
Our goal is simple, we want to give people the right advice when buying running shoes. Whether you walk 10 minutes a night, run marathons or your simply on your feet all day, you should start your journey on the right foot.
We use the latest Gait Analysis video technology to assess peoples' feet. We are a semi mobile business, so in addition to having our own premises we can also go direct to the customer. This means you will see us out and about at your local gym, sports club or running event. On average we spend 45 minutes with each customer when they visit us, Our aim is to make each customer feel special and we hope to help you reach your goal, however big or small.
Running Group
Our goal is to ensure we have happy, healthy runners and walkers. We do this through the ethos of encouragement, fun and no one being left behind. We have groups for all abilities including walkers, to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to improve. Our reward scheme keeps the group motivated and the tea afterwards are where the friendships are made.
How Much is it?
The gait analysis is £10, however in return we give you a £10 voucher, which can be used if you decide to purchase shoes. There is no obligation to buy shoes, our main service is the gait analysis giving you the information to decide how to proceed.
